Father’s Day, Pana style.

Discover the man behind the brand in our Father’s Day Q&A with Pana Organic founder Pana Barbounis and his beautiful family (furry and otherwise).

1. How are you spending Father’s Day this year?

It will no doubt will begin with an early morning walk with my wife, it’s good to find a moment of quiet before the day unfolds. Then I will immerse myself in the kitchen and cook for my three kids. This is how I relax.. Then it will most probably be a day of fun, cards, and board games.

2. What does being a parent mean to you?

It’s something to never take for granted, a miracle! I’m super grateful.

3. What inspires you as a parent?

The growth of my kids, their own personalities, and their take on life, how amazingly they adapt and take on challenges.

4. How does your family inspire you?

Well.. if I start with my parents, they gave me an unbelievable start to life with lots of love, food and family always just being around. This still continues! My wife, our growth together and learnings, holding the space for each other. And of course, my kids, their own motivations of life are an inspiration.

Every year we organise a tree planting family day, it’s the ultimate gift of time with my wife and kids, time spent with nature.

5. How do you juggle work and parenting?

Don’t juggle! It’s part of life and you learn to love it.

6. What you would love to receive this father’s day and why?

For the past few years, I have combined my birthday (Leo) with Father’s Day. We have organised a tree planting family day, the ultimate gift of time with my wife and kids, time spent with nature. And… a gift that just keeps on giving. Due to the current unsettled environment, we couldn’t plan this ahead, so a Pana Organic Hot Chocolate made for me at any point through the day, will suffice this year!

Warm up your winter nights with this spicy little number 🌶️ 🍊
Not that our frozen desserts 'need' jazzing up, but a little extra jazz never hurt anyone... especially when it's a jazzy little affogato!⁠
⁠
• Put your Pana Organic Almond stick into a glass, then top with hot coffee (we used filter coffee but an espresso double shot would also work well)⁠
⁠
• Top up with non-dairy mylk (optional, but delicious)⁠
⁠
• Sprinkle with shavings of Peanut Caramel chocolate (not optional 😉)
It's National Cookie Ice-Cream Sandwich day, and we're celebrating with these plant-based beauties! Our rich Double Chocolate Frozen Dessert, sandwiched between two choc-chunk cookies 🤤⁠

Ingredients: ⁠
230g vegan butter (we use Nuttelex Buttery)⁠
110g caster sugar⁠
60g raw caster sugar⁠
1 tsp vanilla bean paste⁠
340g plain flour⁠
2 x 80g blocks Pana Organic Seventy % Dark Chocolate, chopped into small chunks ⁠
Sea salt flakes⁠
Pana Organic Double Chocolate Frozen Dessert⁠
⁠
Method: ⁠
1. Beat vegan butter, both sugars and vanilla bean paste for about 5 mins until pale in colour and fluffy.⁠
⁠
2. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.  Mixing on low speed, slowly add the flour, followed by the chocolate, beating just to blend.⁠
⁠
3. Divide the dough in half, then roll each into a log about 5cm in diameter (if you roll the dough in plastic wrap it makes this a lot easier!). Freeze the dough logs for 2 hours (the dough can also be frozen longer until you’re ready to bake). ⁠
⁠
4. Preheat a fan-forced oven to 180° and line a large oven tray with baking paper (you may need two, depending on the size of your trays).⁠
⁠
5. Slice each log into 10 rounds.  Arrange on prepared tray/s, leaving 3cm between each round, then sprinkle with sea salt flakes and bake for 12-15 mins or until light golden around the edges.  Allow to cool completely before using to sandwich generous scoops of Double Chocolate frozen dessert.

Here's Lara’s recipe for @pana_organic heavenly Grain-free Hazelnut Brownie Cups ❤️

1/2 C @pana_organic Hazelnut Chocolate Spread
25ml egg replacement
3 tbsp tapioca flour
1/2 tsp baking soda

mix everything together, bake in greased muffin tins (I made 6) at 180 C for 12-15 min. You don’t want them to be necessarily firm to touch as we want it a little gooey inside 💘 Top with @pana_organic Golden Comb Mylk chocolate (while the brownie is warm so it melts the chocolate!) and let cool a little before removing and devouring! (I actually prefer these straight from the freezer!!!) YUM #feedinglara #panaorganic
