Father’s Day, Pana style.

Discover the man behind the brand in our Father’s Day Q&A with Pana Organic founder Pana Barbounis and his beautiful family (furry and otherwise).

1. How are you spending Father’s Day this year?

It will no doubt will begin with an early morning walk with my wife, it’s good to find a moment of quiet before the day unfolds. Then I will immerse myself in the kitchen and cook for my three kids. This is how I relax.. Then it will most probably be a day of fun, cards, and board games.

2. What does being a parent mean to you?

It’s something to never take for granted, a miracle! I’m super grateful.

3. What inspires you as a parent?

The growth of my kids, their own personalities, and their take on life, how amazingly they adapt and take on challenges.

4. How does your family inspire you?

Well.. if I start with my parents, they gave me an unbelievable start to life with lots of love, food and family always just being around. This still continues! My wife, our growth together and learnings, holding the space for each other. And of course, my kids, their own motivations of life are an inspiration.

Every year we organise a tree planting family day, it’s the ultimate gift of time with my wife and kids, time spent with nature.

5. How do you juggle work and parenting?

Don’t juggle! It’s part of life and you learn to love it.

6. What you would love to receive this father’s day and why?

For the past few years, I have combined my birthday (Leo) with Father’s Day. We have organised a tree planting family day, the ultimate gift of time with my wife and kids, time spent with nature. And… a gift that just keeps on giving. Due to the current unsettled environment, we couldn’t plan this ahead, so a Pana Organic Hot Chocolate made for me at any point through the day, will suffice this year!

We’ve been busy baking up some delicious new additions to your pantry staples. Enter choc chips and buttons. This epic line up includes three of our signature flavours – mylk, white and dark - proving dreams can come true. Go forth and bake, melt, dip, swirl, temper and tag us in all your dreamy choc-loaded creations. 🍫🧁🍰
If you have a mug, you have a cake. We're literally *obsessed* with this two minute microwave pudding, inspired by the uber talented @georgeats. It's vegan, gluten free, refined sugar free and takes less than two minutes to cook. What a time to be alive.⁠

What you'll need: ⁠
-2 tbsp cacao powder ⁠
-3.5 tbsp boiling water⁠
-1.5 tbsp maple syrup⁠
-1.5 tbsp oil (we used macadamia)⁠
-1 tsp vanilla essence⁠
-1 tbsp tapioca flour⁠
-2 tbsp brown rice flour⁠
-1/2 tsp baking powder⁠
-Pinch of fine salt⁠
-2 tbsp Hazelnut Chocolate Spread⁠
⁠
Method⁠
1. Add cacao and boiling water to a glass mixing jug and stir until dissolved, then add maple syrup, oil and vanilla.⁠
2. Sift in flours, baking powder and salt and stir until batter is smooth and shiny.⁠
3. Pour into mugs (recipe serves 2), making sure there is plenty of room for the cake to rise.⁠
4. Add spoonful of Hazelnut Chocolate Spread to each mug.⁠
5. Microwave on high for 45-60 seconds, depending on your desired level of gooeyness. ⁠
6. Serve with a scoop of Salted Caramel Frozen Dessert.⁠
7. Devour immediately.⁠

You'll definitely get caught with your hands in the cookie jar after making these irresistibly crispy golden oat biscuits. Pictured here slathered in Hazelnut Chocolate spread. Because YOLO. ⁠

What you'll need⁠
-1 ½ cups gluten free rolled oats⁠
-1 cup plain flour⁠
-1 cup desiccated coconut⁠
-1 tsp baking soda⁠
-½ tsp salt⁠
-½ cup vegan butter alternative (we like Nuttelex buttery)⁠
-1 cup coconut or raw sugar⁠
-3 tbsp maple syrup⁠
-1-2 tbsp plant-based milk of choice⁠
⁠
Method:⁠
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C⁠
2. Add all the dry ingredients to a large bowl and mix together.⁠
3. Cream the vegan butter and sugar together and then add the syrup and plant-based milk.⁠
4. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring until the mixture is very crumbly.⁠
5. Roll into balls and place on a lined baking tray.⁠
6. Bake for 12 minutes, remove from oven and allow to cool and firm up directly on the tray.⁠
